Sleeptalk Release Music Video for Crisp New single “Bright Eyes”

LA-based electro-pop quartet Sleeptalk‘s debut album has arrived via Artery Recordings and the band has released an accompanying music video for the single “Bright Eyes”. The short and crisp track is an innocent song about an infatuation that finally blossoms.

Vocalist Anthony Fitzpatrick says “It’s about being with the girl you have wanted to be with for so long and realizing you both were meant to be together.

The video uses footage the band shot while they were on their most recent tour. Hotel room jam sessions, meeting fans, and parking lot footraces gone wrong are a few highlights.

After self-releasing their debut EPs Pure, a straight-laced indie rock offering and Young, the more experimental spaced-out release, the band sought to marry the best qualities of both on Sleeptalk. Fitzpatrick says “It has exactly the sound we were searching for, it’s not rushed or forced in anyway.”

Sleeptalk is available now on iTunesMerchNow, and all other digital retailers.

Sleeptalk Sign Deal with Gold Standard Records

sleeptalk_2017

LA space-rock quintet Sleeptalk has inked a deal with Gold Standard Records, a label owned by Artery Recordings. The group celebrated the signing by premiering a music video for their new single “Indio California” and announcing plans for a 2017 full-length. The video, which was directed and shot by Shadow Born Group, portrays the idea of not being afraid to express yourself and to always know there is light at the end of the tunnel. The lyrics, however, are inspired by an annual concert series that the band regularly attends.

‘Indio, California’ is a love song,” says vocalist Anthony Fitzpatrick. “The song is based off experiences at the Coachella Music Festival. Every year myself and a large group of friends gather together and camp out at the festival. When you step onto those Polo fields you instantly gain this positive/beautiful energy, It feels like that is the only place in the world. ‘Indio, California’ is about those experiences. The type of experiences everyone longs for.

“Indio, California” is available now on iTunes.

About Sleeptalk:
Hailing from Southern California, Sleeptalk formed from the ashes of the now defunct band Like Giants. After the disbandment in 2013, vocalist Anthony Patrick and bassist Paul McGill found themselves pining for a new sound that stretched beyond the confines of their previous group. Joined by Jason Fitzpatrick (guitar), Justin Melchor (guitar) and Jacques Harmandjian (drums), the quintet make use of strong, haunting hooks that weave into atmospheric melodies. The self-described “space rock” sound creates the framework for Fitzpatrick’s alluring lyrics of sex and youthful love which can be heard all throughout the debut EP Pure and the follow-up Young. At the end of 2016, the band inked a deal with Gold Standard Records, a company owned and operated by Artery Recordings. They released a music video for the single “Indio, California” and announced plans for 2017 full-length.

Sleeptalk Release Music Video for "Bones"

SLPTVLK_August_2016

The LA space-rock quintet Sleeptalk (often stylized as SLPTVLK) has released a new music for their single “Bones.” The video  comes from the group’s EP Young, the second installment in a planned trilogy of releases. In an attempt to convey the idea of getting lost in your own mind, SLPTVLK chose hazy California aesthetics to get across the emotions the song speaks about. The video was shot at Point Dume Beach and Valley Relics Museum in the San Fernando Valley.

When conceptualizing the idea for bones, I immediately knew the beach needed to be included,” says vocalist Anthony Fitzpatrick. “Growing up just 20 minutes from the beach made it the perfect place to go and think about things. It’s also where myself and my friends used to go to smoke/drink during the hot summer days and dark, grainy winter nights. I knew in order to get the point across without making this video corny, I had to make it raw, I had to make it real, I had to make it exactly the way I wrote the song. Being young and free in this town, in California, means endless options. This video is exactly that concept. Undoubtedly, for myself and the band, this is the rawest/realist depiction of Sleeptalk.

“Bones” is available now on iTunes.

Space rock quintet Sleeptalk (featuring ex-members of Like Giants) has released a new music video for the single “Young”. The song is the title track from the band’s sophomore EP which came out last December and features a collection of dreamy, atmospheric rock songs.

This song is based off the type of nights when worries are left behind and the only thing to look forward too is the rest of the night,” says vocalist Anthony Fitzpatrick. “The kind of night when laughing, drinking, and doing drugs seems as if this is nothing else in the world. The type of night when congenial is not only a word, but a lifestyle. Stumbling around, lighting continuous cigarettes and enjoying a group of friends where nothing can go wrong, except the end of the night.
