Stepping Sideways Release “Path Of The Hero” Lyric Video

American rock quintet Stepping Sideways has released their new lyric video for their debut single, “Path Of The Hero“.

Produced by Jonathan Dolese of Konkrete Studios, the debut single serves as a driving force in what’s to come from the band’s upcoming EP set to release later this year.

“We are all incredibly excited about the release of our lyric video for “Path Of The Hero”. This song is about the many difficulties that we face during our life here on Earth. In dealing with these challenges we have all had moments where we have come to a crossroad and are in need of guidance. It is during that moment in time that we need to be shown the “Path Of The Hero”.” – Guitarist, Joey Vasatka

Counterfeit Culture Release “Apothecary” Lyric Video Featuring Ricky Armellino

Post-hardcore act Counterfeit Culture has released their second single, “Apothecary” featuring Ricky Armellino of This Or The Apocalypse. The new lyric video talk about the purpose of the band’s message and the severity of domestic abuse, which is a reoccurring theme in the group’s newly announced, debut EP, Deathwish, which is set to release August 1st.

“Each of our music videos/songs have a message pertaining to an issue in society, (drug abuse, domestic abuse, etc), and our vision is to be more than just musicians, we want to be activists. The four of us want to help shift focus onto more important issues and prevent further damage to those who are lost or unheard,” says, vocalist, Nick Broglio.

In early 2017, the quartet went into the studio with Armellino (This Or The ApocalypseCurrents), who produced and engineered, what is now Deathwish. Mixed and mastered by Taylor Lawson (PeripheryDarkest Hour), the group shows promise with more to come after the release of this three track EP. Pre-orders are available at Counterfeit Culture‘s web-store.

“This EP has been a very emotional release for us. The feelings that went into each song have come from experiences in our lives and in the lives of people around us. Our goal is to portray those difficulties that we and others face in an attempt to shed light on real-life issues in society,” Broglio comments.

Ten Cents Short Release “Beggars”

Massachusetts pop-punk quartet Ten Cents Short will be releasing their sophomore EP Major Steps, Minor Setbacks later this summer, but today, the band has shared a lyric video for the first single “Beggars”. The heavily melodic track about abandonment and acceptance is a crowd-ready, head-bobbing track, accented with an irresistible guitar lead.

The first half of the song basically portrays a confident and sarcastic mindset of convincing yourself that you don’t need someone and life will be fine without them,” says drummer Jonathan Costa. “But as as the song progresses, you start to realize more and more that you really miss that person and you’re having trouble moving on without them. The process of getting on with your life isn’t as easy as you expected.

Ten Cents Short was able to recruit Four Year Strong‘s Alan Day to produce and co-write the track after what many young bands would consider a dream senario at Warped Tour in 2014. “The band and I were there passing out demo CDs and flyers with our info on them throughout the day,” says Costa. “We decided to go to the Four Year Strong meet and greet and gave Alan our CD and just asked if they could take the time to listen to it and that we’d really appreciate it. We took a picture and went on with our day. A couple months went by, and Alan ended up leaving us a message in our Facebook inbox asking if we’d be interested in recording with him up in Western MA. The rest is history. Four Year Strong has inspired a lot of the songs we’ve written in the past so this was a huge opportunity for us to get to work one on one with him and his engineer Mike Harmon.

The lyric video for “Beggars” was created by Zack Williams of ZW Multimedia and pre-orders for Major Steps, Minor Setbacks will be available soon. The remaining four songs on the forthcoming EP were co-written, engineered, mixed, and mastered by Chris Piquette at No Boundaries Studios.

Not A Planet Debut New Song "The World We Know"

img_5846

Indie rock quartet Not A Planet have released their new EP Smoke Bombs and Cigarettes: The History of Now on September 9th.  Listen to their second single “The World We Know” now.

“‘The World We Know’ is a tongue in cheek ‘State of the Union’ and commentary on our culture’s proneness and desire for violence, drama, and distraction,” says vocalist Nathan Corsi. “We tried to encapsulate the tension musically with very restrained verses and an explosive, frantic climax in the chorus. It’s almost like going through news cycles and waiting for the next tragedy or atrocity. The pressure just builds until suddenly, it bursts.”

Smoke Bombs and Cigarettes: The History of Now was produced by Jacob Bunton and engineered by Jason Elgin, with mastering by Brian Lucey (Black Keys, Muse, Dr Dog). The EP is the band’s sophomore release and follows up 2013’s The Few, The Proud, The Strange LP. Pre-orders are available now at the band’s website and fans that sign-up for the mailing list will receive a free download of the first single “Tell the Truth”.

Every day, Not A Planet is hustling.

In a circuitous route, Nathan Corsi, an Akron, Ohioan, made his way to Kansas City after a featured role in a year-long documentary about life as a busker in New York. It wasn’t long before Nathan and Liam Sumnicht, drummer native to KC, who love each other very much, made a rock and roll baby together, and named it “Not A Planet”. A rotating cast of bass players tagged in and out alongside the duo on national tours and local shows for years, but in 2012, William Sturges enlisted as a permanent player. They toured extensively as a trio until 2015, and during that time, put out the NapSack EP and The Few, The Proud, The Strange LP. Their music won local and national awards, and earned fans from all over the world. Accompanying Not A Planet since mid-2015, Nathan Showalter is touring with the band, with keys and harmonies that fill out further the already lush sound.

New music from the Not A Planet EP Smoke Bombs and Cigarettes, is being released late summer, with the first single “Tell The Truth” streaming now.

Undeniably fervent performances, bristling harmonies and catchy-as-fuck rock and roll songs are the Not A Planet signature.

Alesana_Promo_Zero

Pop-metal band Alesana has announced that they will release a book entitled “Annabel” on August 31st. The short novel will tell the story that the band’s three concept albums are based around. Vocalist/guitarist Shawn Milke and his sister Melissa narrated a reading of the first chapter, and director Jason Ligon turned it into a lyric video.

It eventually grew into an album trilogy and now, finally, a short novel. GEARS Releases “End This” Lyric Video

12108190_1644933882390710_5731231171980307249_n

Miami, Florida based Hard Rock band GEARS have released a lyric video for their track “End This” from their latest EP “Pride Comes Before The Fall” which is available now on iTunes. The “End This” lyric video is the 3rd lyric video that has been released from the EP with the critically acclaimed “Face Down” and “Take Away” lyric videos coming before it.

The EP was written by Corey Lowery & GEARS, produced, mixed, & engineered by Corey Lowery, and mastered by Rodney Mills Masterhouse. The lyric video was created by Cody Doyle of CB Entertainment.

People have strong opinions and beliefs regarding violence in our streets, more specifically concentrated around Police brutality. ‘End This’ lyrically, is a look into both sides of it, the Police that we put our trust in to make difficult decisions in a split second and the victims of the brutality, who could be on either side. In the middle, we have the media. Depending on which media source you’re getting your news from, will decide which political agenda you’re being fed. We need to stop letting the media influence us to perpetuate the war of any racial or political agenda. Simply put, we need to END THIS. – Jimmy Wooten (GEARS)
